In videos and photographs shared on social media, the moment when shots are heard can be seen and Trump touches his right ear, from which blood began to flow.
Secret Service officers climbed onto the platform to protect the politician and then remove him from the scene.
The Butler County (Pennsylvania) district attorney confirmed to the media CBS News that two people died in the shooting, including the shooter.
Both the head of communications for the US Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, and Trump campaign spokesman Steve Cheung confirmed that the Republican candidate is doing well and is receiving medical assistance.
The incident sparked several reactions from US politicians, including US President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama, who condemned this type of violence.
