Under the slogan “We learn to protect our future”, the activities of the diabetes awareness and early screening campaign, organized by the Clinical Education Department of Jazan Health, witnessed a large turnout of participants.

The campaign, which is held in the garden of the Primary Health Care Center in the town of Budaiya and Al-Qarfi in Jazan Region, will continue for the month of November, two days each week, in the presence of several prominent personalities, led by a member of the local council in the Abu Arish governorate, Abdo bin Nasser Maafa, and the director of the Saba Cultural Academy in the region, Hassan. bin Ahmed Al-Amir, and the leader of the Misk volunteer team, Talal bin Muhammad Al-Harbi.

Nusaiba bint Ali Abu Hadash, a health education specialist and head of the Pioneers of Health Transformation Team for Community Empowerment, confirmed that these activities target a large segment of society and are educational in order to raise awareness regarding the impact of diabetes in society in order to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and to demand the importance of early examination. Providing complete and distinguished health care to patients, through which and with it the quality of life is achieved and sustainability is ensured with the highest efficiency.

She emphasized the allocation of four corners in the campaign activities in Budaiya and Al-Qarfi, which were launched on Monday evening, including a corner for measuring vital signs for early diabetes screening, a corner for awareness of diabetes and its types, how to deal with low and high cases, appropriate treatments for patients, follow-up on each case, and maintaining the level of sugar in the blood, as well as Focusing on people exposed to diabetes in the future by explaining to them how to maintain their health and safety from this disease, and a corner to raise awareness of the importance of early screening for diabetes and identifying the most important risk factors leading to it, including retinopathy and blood vessels, and taking the necessary medical measures with them.

While the last pillar contains education regarding the importance of insulin medications for diabetes patients, how to store these drugs and their correct and proper injection sites, and reach out to these patients to set appropriate goals to follow up on their conditions, enhance their health awareness, and guide them in the necessary prevention methods that help them live their lives in a decent and sound manner without the slightest health complications.

Specialist Abu Hadash revealed that these activities are among the educational health initiatives, which were implemented by a number of male and female specialists, male and female volunteers, in coordination and cooperation with the Primary Health Care Center in Budaiya and Al-Qarfi and the Youth Pioneers Association represented by the Misk volunteer team. Their contribution to building a society that cares regarding activating the health culture and practicing it in its daily life, overcoming all circumstances and challenges, and benefiting from all medical services and health care.
