In one year, Indert delivered more titles than in the entire period of the previous Government

Asuncion, IP Agency.- In the first year of the current government’s administration, the National Institute for Rural and Land Development delivered a total of 6,502 property titles to beneficiaries of agrarian reform, exceeding the 6,165 titles delivered in the five years of the previous government.

The figure is taken from the Monthly Report prepared by Indert, which includes economic data on the country, with a focus on indicators for the rural sector.

According to the report, the number of titles delivered during the last year exceeds all annual averages for the delivery of these documents in the last seven presidential terms, since 1989.

The report states that land titling contributes to improved agricultural productivity, noting that this strategy will help improve the rates of extreme rural poverty, an area where 71% of the country’s extremely poor are found.

In this regard, the task of titling has focused on supporting families headed by women. In the last 12 months, women’s participation in titling has increased from 43% to 51%. This was due to the reduction of interest rates on land to 4% for men and 0% for women.

Among the regions of the country with the most titles delivered, the department of Caaguazú stands out, with 35% of the titles, San Pedro with 17%, Alto Paraná 15%, Canindeyú 10% and Guairá 7%.
