In Nancy, he films the legs and underwear of thousands of women at the supermarket

A 50-year-old will be tried in March before the criminal court of Nancy for voyeurism following the discovery of nearly 5,000 shots of women’s legs or underwear, filmed without their knowledge, said Thursday the public prosecutor of Nancy François Pérain.

The voyeurism of this resident of Meurthe-et-Moselle, born in 1965, was discovered in September 2021 when security guards at a hypermarket near Nancy spotted him filming with his mobile phone under the skirt of A client, who filed a complaint, explained Mr. Pérain in a press release.

Aggravated voyeurism

While in police custody, he told the police that he filmed under the skirts of passers-by “four or five times”but the seizure and exploitation of his computer actually led to the discovery of 4,777 files related to “a voyeuristic activity”with the shooting of women’s legs or underwear.

When questioned, the man admitted having recorded all these files, so the vast majority concerned the filming of the legs. “When he was shopping, he might record several dozen videos,” said the magistrate.

Prosecuted for aggravated voyeurism, he faces a maximum sentence of two years’ imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 euros.
