Died at just 37 years old, Gaspard Ulliel had a son Orso with his ex Gaëlle Pietri. To celebrate his birthday and pay tribute to his former love this Saturday, November 25, the mother of her son wanted to share a very tender image of the actor with Orso.
In black and white, the photo shows the actor embracing his son in a large garden. A moment suspended in time for the child who hugs his father tightly. “You were his life and he was yours. Every day our son talks regarding you and I try to heal his inconsolable heart” writes Gaëlle Pietri in the caption.
Author of the book Time to say goodbye published by Editions Grasset, Gaëlle Pietri spoke of her passionate romantic relationship with the actor as well as their breakup in front of journalists from the Sunday Journal. “He left you overnight, like he disappeared suddenly. Is the end of a love story so painful?“, asked the journalist from JDD.
“Gaspard died twice. Our separation was almost a preparation for his death because it was brutal (…) When the other person withdraws his gaze from you, you have the impression of dying. But it is only death that cuts life in two. I was angry with him. Sometimes I talk to him, I argue with him and I say to him: ‘You let me go once more‘”, the model then replied.
She continued: “Overnight, I became Orso’s sole legal guardian. But I was ‘the ex’, I had lost a sort of legitimacy, I didn’t know where to place myself in relation to others, to the family“. Since then, Gaëlle Pietri has made the choice to put herself “under a bell” with their son Orso in order to protect him from the media.
As a reminder, Gaspard Ulliel had a fatal skiing accident on January 18, 2022, while he was skiing at the La Rosière resort (Savoie) where he was vacationing with friends. He suffered a head injury following a collision without a helmet with another skier at the junction of two slopes. Arriving brain dead at the intensive care unit of Grenoble-Alpes University Hospital, his death was announced twenty-four hours later. He had just celebrated his son’s sixth birthday…
