The young American actor died a week following burying his father who was his “best friend”, his family said in a statement.
The star actor of the HBO series Euphoria Angus Cloud died on Monday in Oakland, California, at the age of 25, his family said in a statement relayed by American media. The circumstances of his death were not disclosed.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” it read.
A week following his father’s funeral
In this statement to the media, the family of Angus Cloud, who revealed himself playing the role of Fez, a drug trafficker close to the character played by Zendaya, indicated that the young man suffered from mental disorders.
“Angus was open regarding his battle with mental health issues and we hope his passing will remind others that they are not alone and should not be fighting alone in silence,” his family wrote.
She added: “As an artist, friend, brother and son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and struggled intensely with this loss. Our only comfort is in knowing that Angus is now reunited with his father, who was his best friend… We hope the world will remember him for his humor, his laughs and his love for everyone.”
“We are incredibly saddened to learn of Angus Cloud’s passing,” HBO said in a statement. “He was extremely talented and part of the HBO and ‘Euphoria’ family. We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
Cloud Angus was one of the main stars of HBO’s hit teen series. After the success of the first two seasons, the producers had renewed the series for a third season.
