His name may not be familiar to you, his accomplishments will probably be more familiar to you. Bruno Albert, one of the great architects of Liège, has died. He is notably responsible for the construction of the Haute Ecole de Commerce (HEC) in Liège from 1990 to 1994.
If the old buildings on the site were to be totally destroyed, the architect proposed to keep as much as possible of what might be. The result: a mix between the old and the new, which will be one of the successes of the project.
Bruno Albert is also the extension of the Institute of Physical Education, in 1984, and the Blanc Gravier, in 1985, on the Sart-Tilman site. Beyond our borders, the architect also realized the “Buskenblaser project” in Amsterdam or the housing complex located on the island of KNSM
Bruno Albert graduated in architecture from the Institut Supérieur d’Architecture Saint-Luc de Wallonie in 1966, where he also taught followingwards. He had created his own workshop in 1972. He died on August 14 at the age of 81.
