In Medicine they demand exams and completed

Students from the UNLP Faculty of Medicine held a protest last night at the headquarters of that academic unit demanding modifications to the exam schedule and conditions of study.

The move was raised with an agenda that provided for the development of an assembly at the end of the followingnoon and then a vigil, consisting of spending the night. The last section was postponed for the next few days.

Only a few weeks have passed since the medical students claimed for the addition of a mandatory subject to the curriculum and now the tension has returned due to a battery of requests related, once more, to those taken.

Finally, that conflict was resolved, once the deanery decided to back down with the novelty. Despite that, the claims continue.

During yesterday followingnoon, the students discussed the problems they encounter due to “the lack of an exam table for this month.”

It is argued that this option would allow a considerable segment of the student body to seek the year pass (managing to pass correlative subjects of the upper course).

It is also requested for the extension of the validity period of the practical work corresponding to the 2018 academic cycle.

In the same line, the students who generate the movement, enrolled in some of the groups of the Faculty, also ask for more places for the subjects and “that the time bands” of the courses are complied with.

“To study properly, we have to decide among all of us, when we organized ourselves and we all pulled in the same direction, we were able to move forward,” he said in recent hours from one of the groups that called for the assembly and vigil at the Faculty.

The proposals are added to the recent claims for the inclusion of Intensive Care as a mandatory subject at the end of the degree and the lack of places to study subjects in the first sections of the degree. Tension was added in a Faculty that has been dragging complaints regarding training.

For example, the widespread modality of virtual classes, even when other faculties resumed following isolation due to the pandemic, raised claims for face-to-face classes.

At the same time, the evaluation method was questioned in several subjects where high failure rates were recorded over the last two years. The climate of convulsion included resignations and withdrawals from the teaching staff.
