The city of Marseille has just experienced a tragic week, with the involvement of several teenagers in two linked episodes of extreme violence, against a backdrop of drug banditry. A 14-year-old boy was imprisoned on Sunday October 6 for assassination by an organized gang, possibly becoming the youngest hitman in recent history. Another was stabbed around fifty times before being burned alive by a group of individuals. He was 15 years old.
In a press conference held on Sunday, the public prosecutor of Marseille, Nicolas Bessone noted that a “additional degree” had just been crossed, alarmed at the« ultrarejuvenation » young boys recruited on social networks to serve Marseille criminal groups, yesterday to sell drugs, today to commit assassinations. The other observation drawn up by the magistrate relates to the “total loss of bearings” of these teenagers “who respond to advertisements not for the harvest or even to sell cannabis resin, but to go and take the lives of others without any remorse”. “The role of social networks is starting to question us”he added.
Two assassinations, committed two days apart, were part of a war between two rival clans, the DZ Mafia and a team based in the Félix-Pyat city, named by investigators as “new Blacks”. They have been arguing for years over the deal point of the Moulin-de-Mai city, in the district of Belle-de-Mai, where already, in 2021, a 19-year-old young woman was killed by a gunshot to the head, apparently intended for the driver of the vehicle in which she was.

Carried out this week with great speed, the investigation shows that, on October 2, an inmate incarcerated at the Aix-en-Provence prison mandated a “jobber”, a small-time trafficker, aged 15, to go to the Félix-Pyat estate and shoot in the door of the accommodation of one of his fellow prisoners, supposed to belong to an opposing team. A mission which was to be paid 2,000 euros. But the teenager, accompanied by a second of the same age, was intercepted at the foot of the building by several people who discovered a weapon on him. If his accomplice fled – he was arrested three days later – he suffered the relentlessness of a group of people; he was stabbed around fifty times and transported to the neighboring city of Fonscolombes, where he was burned alive. “A scene of unprecedented savagery”according to the prosecutor.
