“We worked for around 14 to 15 hours, without eating, without even going to the toilet” on the day of the match, explains the manager of the establishment. “You would have thought we had won the World Cup, it was great,” he continues.
In ten years of activity, the pub had never had such good turnover. “We made 18,000 euros on a Saturday, excluding taxes. And in finefor the month of September, 130,000 euros in revenue, which is the record for the month.
“We finally worked”
At the Bouchon Chez Meunier, every match night, the establishment is full. A joy for the manager, Christelle, in the face of the economic situation of recent months. “In the first part of September, it was very calm. In any case, it has been calm for a year because we have had the same clientele since the Covid. But there, it did us good because we finally worked. It’s nice to have a good end to the month of September,” she emphasizes.
Faced with rising prices for raw materials and energy, restaurateurs admit to being in difficulty. They therefore hope that the supporters will still be as greedy until the end of this Rugby World Cup.
