In Luxembourg The unemployment rate remains at 4.7%
LUXEMBOURG – The number of resident jobseekers registered with the Employment Development Agency stood at 14,259 as of July 31, 2022, down 15.2% year-on-year.
The number of available resident jobseekers registered with the Employment Development Agency (Adem) stood at 14,259 as of July 31, 2022. Compared to July 2021, this represents a decrease of 15, 2%. The unemployment rate, adjusted for seasonal variations, is 4.7%, as in June 2022.
The number of job seekers is down for all categories of job seekers, with the exception of job seekers whose registration period is less than 4 months, which are up by 6.9%, notes Adam.
The unemployment rate was still above 6.5% in July 2020, in the midst of the Covid crisis.
Adem
On the other hand, the number of new registrations is on the rise again. Indeed, 2,251 residents registered with Adem during the month of July 2022, an increase of 4% compared to July 2021.
At the same time, employers declared 3,965 vacancies to Adem during the month of July 2022, which corresponds to an increase of 13.9% compared to July 2021. The number of available positions stands at 13 028 to July 31, 2022. The increase over one year is 34.1%. There is never had so much of positions available in Luxembourg.
