In Lugano, will Switzerland take new initiatives in favor of Ukraine?

From this Monday, official Switzerland is donning a costume it likes, that of host of international summits. Place of engagement: Lugano. Duration: two days. Subject: the reconstruction of Ukraine, destroyed by the Russian invasion. For Bern, which is co-organising with Kyiv, it will of course be a question of facilitating fruitful exchanges between the 1,000 or so participants, half of whom come from 38 States and 14 international organisations. The President of the Confederation, Ignazio Cassis, and the Federal Councilor Simonetta Sommaruga will reply to foreign ministers, vice-ministers and senior officials, among whom the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is the sole “head poster”.
