The import of cars from the US to Cuba continues to increase, and in 2024 it skyrocketed, since in just six months the number of cars sent to the island was exceeded, which will be in 2023.

Between January and June 2024, Cuba imported vehicles from the United States worth more than $30 million, marking a significant increase in this sector.

This activity has benefited several American companies that obtained licenses from Washington to carry out these exports, as well as the Cuban government, which has increased tariffs on these transactions.

According to data from the U.S.-Cuba Economic and Trade Council, Cuban buyers spent a total of $25,869,926 on used cars with engines between 1,500 and 3,000 cc alone.

The import report details the acquisition of numerous vehicle models. Among them, $109,500 was invested in new 3,000 cc passenger cars and $3,023,593 in similar but second-hand vehicles.
