Assassin’s Creed Mirage was released exactly a week ago. The perfect opportunity for Ubisoft to reveal the first statistics of the game. And some are particularly surprising.

Time for the first assessment for Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Today has been a week since Assassin’s Creed Mirage was released. As a reminder, this back-to-basics episode was designed as a tribute to the entire license, a separate episode while waiting for the next big episode, Assassin’s Creed Codename Red. But that doesn’t mean Mirage wasn’t expected. Fans were eager to rediscover the sensations they had experienced 16 years ago when the first Assassin’s Creed was released. What’s more, as the game is rather short, it is sold at the attractive price of €49.99. But this was nevertheless not enough to allow it to rise to the top of the best sellers.

Commenting on the further fall in Ubisoft’s share value, some specialists have suggested that Mirage’s sales would have been disappointing. For them, the fact that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is only second in the list of best-selling games of the week in the UK is not a good sign. But it’s actually a little more complicated than that. First place is taken by EA Sports FC 24, the successor to FIFA. We are talking regarding a license which is regularly, at least in France, the best-selling cultural good over the year, just that. Obviously, it’s difficult to compete. And Ubisoft seems, on the contrary, rather happy with the sales of Mirage. Through a tweet, the studio announced that the game recorded a launch similar to Origins and Odyssey and, above all, that it was the Ubisoft game with the best launch on PS5 and Xbox Series. Far from trivial information which is accompanied by slightly more trivial statistics.

Pet more cats!

Ubisoft took the opportunity to share the usual exploits validated by players. We learn that in just one week the players spent the equivalent of 479 years (around 11,500 hours) in the streets of Baghdad and its surroundings. 60 million leaps of faith have been made and 1.2 million stray cats have been petted. And besides, we told you earlier today regarding a rather special easter egg which concerns Mirage’s cats.

While this last statistic may seem huge, it’s not that impressive. For comparison, no less than 8 million foxes were petted in Ghost of Tsushima, and only 10 days following its launch. However, the ability to pet these animals in the title of Sucker Punch was linked to a secondary activity, the Inari Shrines. So it’s not really surprising to see such a difference. But don’t hesitate to increase this unusual statistic by petting all the cats you come across in Mirage!
