In January, transfer from the Ministry of Health of Michoacán to the IMSS-Bienestar

Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla announced that, by the beginning of January of next year, the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will visit the state to formalize the transfer agreement for the services of the Michoacán Ministry of Health (SSM) to the IMSS-Wellness program.

The foregoing, after the president held a working meeting with the IMSS management team, headed by Zoé Robledo Aburto, where it was reported that this month the general actions agreement with the Government of Michoacán will be finalized, in order to advance with the respective process.

It was highlighted that, in a first stage, the transfer of 22 regional hospitals of the SSM will be carried out, including that of Maruata, in the municipality of Aquila, which suffered structural damage due to the earthquakes in September, for which the possibility is being analyzed to migrate hospital staff or relocate and build a new hospital infrastructure for that location.

In a second phase, the general director added, the corresponding action will be done with the five remaining regional hospitals to, with this, cover the medical needs in all the regions of Michoacán.

In addition to the fact that they are already working on the image and adaptation of services to focus care actions, for example, for child and adolescent development, a good eating program for patients with chronic-degenerative diseases such as diabetics and hypertensives, among others.

The governor celebrated the progress made in the process and commented that with the transfer of medical services to the IMSS-Bienestar, the entity’s health system will be strengthened where the general population will be able to access medical care free of charge. and other services in the sector, without the need to be affiliated with the Mexican Institute of Social Security.
