Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM), reported that between December 2021 and January 2022, the dirham depreciated by 0.38% once morest the dollar.

At the level of the interbank market, the volume of exchanges of currencies once morest dirhams stood at 28.9 billion dirhams (MMDH) in December 2021, up by 3.7 billion dirhams compared to the same month a year earlier.
Regarding bank transactions with customers, their volume stood at 35.2 billion dirhams for cash purchases and 18.9 billion dirhams for those in the long term, once morest respectively 32.2 billion dirhams and 15.4 billion dirhams a year earlier. .
As for sales, they concerned an amount of 43.4 billion dirhams for cash transactions and 12.7 billion dirhams for those in the long term, following 30.6 billion dirhams and 5 billion dirhams respectively.
The net foreign exchange position of banks thus came out almost unchanged at -3.7 billion dirhams at the end of December.
