As they try to flee, the inhabitants of Irpin, a town located 15 km from Kiev, are under attack from Russian fire, which has already caused several victims.

This Ukrainian fighter attends the evacuation of Irpin (U​kraine). In the distance, the inhabitants flee with some luggage, when suddenly, a Russian mortar shell falls on the street. The fighter is taken away in a panic. On the other side of the street, civilians are hit. A few meters further on, bodies are strewn on the ground. A family and their two children perished in the explosion. Irpin, 15 km from Kiev is relentlessly pounded by the Russian army. It is the last strategic city to the west on the road to the capital.

Residents scramble to escape the chaos between explosions. Get up and go again despite the fear. Flee the city at all costs, in a climate of terror. “I’m terrified, it’s horrible”, testifies a young girl. To escape the bombarded city, the inhabitants must cross a destroyed bridge. Elderly people and families go through fear in their stomachs, fearing in turn that they will be targeted. Only prayers ward off anguish.
