At the origin of the myth of the Great West, the two adventurers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, commissioned by President Jefferson. Leaving at the head of an expedition on an unprecedented scale, they were looking for access to the Pacific Ocean. The purpose of this crossing of more than 13,000 kilometers: to map new territories, and to respond to the expansionist desire of a very young nation.
