Berlin ∙ A 72-year-old woman was arrested for turning off a patient’s ventilator on the grounds that the noise was disturbing. The incident took place in Mannheim, Germany. Even before this they had switched off the ventilator citing the same reason. The patient barely escaped that day. The doctors had said that the ventilator was necessary and should not be turned off.
Now for the second time the ventilator was switched off and the patient was in critical condition. The accused was produced in court and released on bail. A case has been registered for attempted murder. The patient is undergoing emergency treatment.
