Iranian state television revealed that a cleric was injured in a gun attack in Isfahan, central Iran.
Iranian state television indicated that “a motorcyclist wounded the cleric, Mohsen Akhwan, who is the imam of a mosque in Isfahan, with a firearm.”
The television stated that “the cleric was returning to his home following the dawn prayer when the attack occurred,” noting that “the cleric was not seriously injured, but was taken to the hospital.”
He stressed that “the motives for the shooting were not immediately known.”
