The health situation is deteriorating in Deux-Sèvres. The incidence rate of covid-19 has almost tripled in one week. 926 cases per 100,000 inhabitants indicates the last weekly bulletin of the ARS on the week of December 25 to 31 once morest 325 the week of December 18 to 24. There is an increase in all age groups but it is particularly high among 20-39 year olds and throughout the territory except Thouarsais.
The regional health agency notes that there has been more tests carried out, and more positive results : 12.8% positivity once morest 5.6 the week of December 18 to 24. Regarding variants, Omicron seems to take precedence over Delta. Of the screening results available, i.e. 705 out of 4261 positive tests, more than 70% presented one of the mutations associated with variant Omicron.
43 people hospitalized for covid
In the hospital, the situation is tense once more. Nine more hospitalizations in a week, either in total 43 identified including six in intensive care. 35% of intensive care beds are occupied by covid patients.
As for vaccination, 13,600 Deux-Sévriens more received the booster dose of vaccine which makes 38% of the population of the department. This is a little less than the average for Nouvelle-Aquitaine. 81.5% have received at least one dose, and 80.5% have a complete vaccination schedule. There, the rates are slightly above the regional average.
