In detail… a “dangerous plan” followed by some Arabs to enter America

In light of the difficult conditions that many Arab countries suffer from, many resort to risky adventures, to enter the United States through the Mexican border.

In an example that reflects the high risks, one of the Syrian doctors wrote a post on Facebook in one of the groups dedicated to Arabs residing in America, stating that he wanted to surrender himself at the US-Mexico border, asking about the period of detention that he would be exposed to and the risks involved.

The Syrian doctor’s publication revealed that hundreds followed the same thing to enter the United States, some of whom succeeded in that, and some of them were exposed to risks that amounted to losing their lives at the hands of gangs operating on the Mexican-American border, in addition to being imprisoned in the United States if the American authorities accepted their entry.

One of them replied to the Syrian doctor, explaining that the matter was not easy, saying: “If they do not shoot you, you will be imprisoned, and after that it is not known what your fate will be.”

While another said: “Imprisonment from 3 to 10 days, and after imprisonment, you will enter America normally,” while a third noted that the imprisonment period could be up to 4 months.

As for the most dangerous thing in the story, what a fourth person said: “The Mexican gangs that you will deal with at the borders may lead you to the organs trade gangs and you will lose your life. You imagine that they will take you to become a substitute for an American or European doctor, as the issue involves a great risk to your life and your degree, and you must study this step well before resorting to it.”

The matter does not stop at this point, but rather that the Iraqi immigrant, Riyad Khalil, revealed to “Sky News Arabia” that he entered via the US-Mexican border, and things were easy for him on the border and that was last December, when the US authorities received him and he was imprisoned for a month. And a half, and then they left him and asked him to tell them the address where he would be in the United States.

He added that despite entering the country, he cannot work legally because he has not obtained any papers from the authorities yet, and that he is awaiting trial on charges of crossing the borders, after which the court will decide either to accept him as a refugee or imprison him on charges of breaching American sovereignty, but in all cases he accepts anything because he In the end, he will remain in America and will not leave it.

Omar Al-Asaad, a lawyer specializing in asylum cases in the United States, told Sky News Arabia that he received many cases of Arabs who entered through the Mexican-American border and asked him to file asylum cases for them.

And he added that he actually accepts that in order to help them make their situation legal, but the cases continue in US courts for a period that may reach 10 years of deliberation, and throughout this period the case owners remain in an illegal and unstable situation, and he barely gets them temporary permits to work for spending on themselves.

He explained that the plan adopted by many of those entering through the border is that they tear up or hide their passports and identity papers and claim to the authorities that they have no homeland in order to force the US authorities to accept them, and if the authorities accept them and do not return them to Mexico, they are imprisoned for a period to ensure security and then leave them and set a date for trial. accused of crossing the border.

He pointed out that after the person enters, they start showing his identification papers and he resorts to an immigration lawyer to file an asylum claim, and so on, but he advises not to follow that path because of its danger, especially on the Mexican borders, due to the spread of outlaws, and the US police may also shoot those who approach the border.
