Suzanne Thoma is a figure of the Swiss economy. After having completely remodeled the former Bernese Driving Forces, it is now working to transform the Sulzer industrial group. Since last fall, she has held not only the presidency of the board of directors, but also the position of general manager. Suzanne Thoma is undertaking a major overhaul of the strategy of the Zurich company, a Swiss industrial flagship founded in 1834, whose technology revolves around the construction of pumping, mixing, separation and treatment of all types of liquids, from oil to waste water and biofuels. She agreed to answer questions from the Temps at the company headquarters in Winterthur. The Zurich firm, which achieves a turnover of more than 3 billion francs, has its headquarters at the “Wintower”. This glazed tower, which is located not far from the station, culminates at nearly 100 meters. Erected in the 1960s, the building was the tallest building in the country until 1978.
