The flu epidemic has slowed down in recent days in France, remaining at a high level, while, in infants, that of bronchiolitis continues but with hospitalizations still falling, summarized this Thursday, January 5 the agency of public health in its weekly report. According to these same data, last week was marked by a slowdown in the circulation of influenza and Covid viruses, but maintained at a high level.
In Corsica, the flu epidemic is particularly early this year but despite 550 consultations in the week between December 26 and January 1, the indicators of this virus were down in city medicine and in emergencies as well as hospitalizations reports Santé Publique France, in its weekly bulletin. However, the incidence rate for flu syndromes remains at 222 per 100,000 inhabitants, up from the previous week when it was 158 per 100,000 inhabitants.

A drop in the number of positive Covid cases
According to the latest bulletin published this Thursday, January 5 by the Regional Health Agency of Corsica, viral circulation continues to decrease on the island. Between December 26 and January 1, 4,993 Corsican residents were newly tested by RT-PCR or antigen test and, of these, 1,021 (146 daily cases) were newly tested positive for Covid. The incidence rate stabilized at 290 cases per 100,000 people, down 28% compared to last week. “The viral circulation continues to decrease slightly. A decrease in bronchiolitis-related hospitalizations
