Born more than 30 years ago in Canada, the Imax format, initially used in planetariums and science museums, is now available in 1,700 cinemas around the world – including 400 in the United States, compared to around twenty in France. Rich Gelfond, CEO of Imax Corporation, looks back on the turbulent year that the cinema industry has just experienced, between the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon and the historic strike in Hollywood.
