Solidly rooted in Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), the Lorillard group, the leading independent French industrial carpentry group, continues to grow. After taking over a company in the Channel last year, it is continuing its progress towards the west. This time, it is in Mayenne that it is established. He has just bought the family business Poupin, in Loiron-Ruillé.
Like Lorillard, but on a smaller scale, Poupin manufactures custom windows and doors in aluminium, PVC and wood, and employs 138 people. By joining the Chartrain group, the company becomes its eighth production site.
Known to the general public under its Lorenove brand
Lorillard, born in 1936 in Chartres and particularly known to the general public under its Lorenove brand, will thus be able to establish itself in Mayenne, Sarthe and Brittany and plans to open two new points of sale in 2022 and 2023. This takeover will also allow it to progress in the rehabilitation market for individuals, as well as in the new construction of single-family homes, a sector in which it was not present. All while producing as close as possible to its customers “to minimize transport costs”, specifies Lorillard.
Thanks to the acquisition of Poupin, the group now has 1,200 employees, including 600 at head office, and produces 1,200 joineries per day, which corresponds to the renovation or fitting out of 300 homes. Its turnover reached 230 million euros, the “critical size” it had set itself to better withstand national and international competition.
