UFOs or drones? In two cities in Los Angeles County, California, dozens of people observed and filmed flying objects on the evening of August 16.
One thing is for sure: something unusual appeared in the night sky over Palmdale and Lancaster, California, on August 16. And it didn’t go unnoticed: dozens of residents of these two neighboring towns in Los Angeles County observed, filmed and commented on social media about luminous objects behaving erratically. Neighbors, a local networking app for neighbors that is very popular in the United States, was quickly overwhelmed with reports and images, to the point that the authorities opened an investigation.
One resident described what he observed: “My daughter and I were hanging out in the backyard when we saw a shooting star come from the east, then stop abruptly and then zigzag back to the north.”
Another says: “I was walking my dog behind my house when I saw a bright light in the sky, to my surprise it was a hovering craft.”

A young man explains that he went out into the street with his mother after being alerted by these various messages. He claims to have seen no less than six objects in the space of about ten minutes.
Contrasting common points between these different observations: periods of hovering alternating with sudden changes of direction.
Among the videos circulating on X (ex-Twitter), this one shows a motionless multi-colored object. Several other sequences, shared in particular on X, cannot for the moment be dated and located with certainty.

Despite the spectacular nature of this incident, the hypothesis of several drones does not seem incompatible with the flight characteristics and appearance of the observed objects. The official investigation should undoubtedly confirm or refute this explanation.
