The tragic accident of the ATR 72-500 aircraft occurred today in Brazil in the city of Valinhos on the outskirts of São Paulo. A fourteen-year-old turboprop operated by Voepass Linhas Aéreas crashed on approach to a local airport. It was a flight from the city of Cascavel to São Paulo.

The information about the death of the people on board the crashed plane was also indirectly confirmed by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who asked for a minute’s silence in their memory at a public event, the CNN Brasil server reported. “They all seem to have died, so I’m asking for a minute’s silence for the victims,” said the president. The accident was confirmed by the local town hall.
