Netflix revealed a set of images for its new movie Maestroin black, white and color, the work starring Bradley Cooper, in which he presents the character of the legendary composer Leonard Bernstein. The film is scripted, produced and directed by Bradley Cooper with the participation of Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg as producers.
The pictures show Carey Mulligan, who plays Bernstein’s wife, Felicia Montealegre, and the film co-stars Matt Bomer and Maya Hawke. The work will be released on December 20, and its duration is 2 hours and 9 minutes.
The new Maestro film will revolve around the complex love story between Leonard and Felicia, a story that spans more than 30 years, from when they met in 1946 at a party and continues through two engagements, a 25-year marriage, and three children: Jimmy Bernstein, Alexander Bernstein, and Nina Bernstein Simons.
Bernstein was born Louis Bernstein on August 25, 1918 in Massachusetts. He is from a family of Ukrainian-Jewish origins. When he reached the age of sixteen, he changed his name to Leonard, which is the nickname he has remained with ever since. He died on October 14, 1990 in New York. He was a composer, pianist, and maestro.
He studied composition and piano at Harvard University and in 1943 became assistant conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra under Arthur Rudzinski. He received the George Peabody Medal in 1980, the Prix de la Legion d’Honneur as a conductor, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, the Austrian Medal of Arts and Sciences, and others.
