The mayor of Ioannito, Thomas Begas, informed the municipal council last night about the development following a request submitted by the municipal authority to the General Secretariat of Civil Protection.
Citizens who have suffered damage from the bad weather may be compensated while the Municipality will be financed to deal with problems caused by the bad weather.

Mr. Begas, in the first official briefing after the extreme weather events, stated among other things that there was no warning from the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, neither to the agencies nor to the citizens, while on the contrary, 112 was called the next day.
