In Age of Empires 2, a 60-hour match was over – it ended due to problems with the Internet of one of the players | Games

Finnish player Rubenstock and gamer from Romania Andre_2i had a match in the strategy Age of Empires II, which lasted more than 60 hours. The confrontation was broadcast on Twitch on the channel of the Romanian player.

During the match, both participants encountered a number of technical problems: Rubenstock was having internet problems, and Andre_2i was constantly receiving Windows update alerts. After several dozen hours of confrontation, the Romanian player offered to end the meeting with a draw, but Rubenstock refused – at that time he was in a better position.

Later, the Finnish player again had problems with the Internet, because of which he once again flew out of the session and did not have time to reconnect. The match ended with the victory of Andre_2i and lasted 98 in-game hours.

The duel was commented by the developers of Age of Empires II. On Twitter, they published the statistics of the match with a reference to one of the in-game phrases. In the post, the authors of the strategy wrote: “27: Did you play, ahem, 98 hours to die like this?”

The release of the real-time strategy Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings took place in 1999. The remaster, subtitled Definitive Edition, was released on the twentieth anniversary of the original game.
