The animal rights association L214 has hijacked Burger King’s marketing operation “Mystery Burger” to reveal the truth hidden behind their nuggets, chicken burgers, and other wings: deformed, sick and featherless chickens, piled up by tens of thousands in sheds without access to the outside.
The images broadcast in the video above are awful in showing the images of these chickens which are then used according to the association to make the hamburgers and other chicken products consumed in the Fast Food.
The association writes: “Let’s ask Burger King to commit to respecting the criteria of the European Chicken Commitment and to favoring the outdoors for its chicken meat supplies by sharing the video and signing the petition!”
The description made by L214 is chilling:
– At the slaughterhouse, they are brutally hung upside down on the chain. It is common for their bones to break when they are snagged and then electrocuted to render them unconscious.
– Respiratory disorders, skin lesions, lameness, heart problems… the suffering of these young animals is multiple.
– They live on their excrement. Their bedding is only changed following they leave for the slaughterhouse.
– Lack of light, clean air, perches… some people do not survive these extreme conditions.
– Genetically selected to grow so fast that they struggle to carry their weight, some chickens have difficulty moving.
Up to 22 chickens per square meter, barely the space of an A4 sheet per bird
