More than a hundred people gathered on Tuesday, August 2, at the Savignac forge to see the Shakespearean comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. From the start of the play, on a very minimalist stage, one of the actresses appeals to a spectator, telling him that he is her lover and that his name is now Lysandre.
Improvisation at work
The whole play goes like this: respecting the real text, on the one hand, and connecting to the modern era, on the other, all with a lot of interaction with the public. “We are all theater professionals, says Jean-Baptiste Siaussat, actor and director. Fanny Tramcourt adapted the play and each of us four plays at least two roles. By including the public, we make the piece, although not simple, accessible to all. The improvisation of the actors did not seduce and provoked the laughter of spectators.
