The president of the College of Pharmacists of Córdoba, Germán Daniele, confirmed this Friday that the price of medicines on Monday was 23 percent on average, in line with the devaluation implemented by the Government following the internal elections (Paso).

“We have a price observatory. The increase in August gave us an average of 23% in the more than 19,000 medical specialties that exist. As of Monday (the laboratories) transferred the devaluation directly, and in one or two days almost all the laboratories increased, ”he told Miter.

With the new increase, the cumulative rise so far this year reaches 74% and 144% year-on-year compared to August 2022.

The price of medicines had an impact on the consumption habits of patients. “We have seen a drop in the number of units, the medication increases, and people stop consuming some treatments. We also notice it at the counter and in the advice that people ask us for. That is the reason that he can no longer access his treatment, unfortunately, ”she indicated.

About social works

Due to the high inflation, the local collegiate pharmacists agreed with Pami and anticipated that they will ask to shorten the payment times for prepaid companies: “We had a meeting with Pami. It is going to recompose the profitability of pharmacies. Apross is going to continue with the payment schedule that we have been doing well to date”.

“And with the rest of the social works -he added- we are going to be stricter when it comes to deadlines. There are social works that are 60 or 90 days away and, in this context, the pharmacy will not be able to finance in those terms ”, he pointed out.
