The forest fires that are maintained in the north of Corrientes, consumed more than 3 thousand hectares during the weekend. Starting this Sunday, in the area between Villa Olivari and ItuzaingóFire crews work together with Civil Defense to contain the flames, but the extreme heat and winds of more than 30 kilometers per hour make the task difficult.

The director of Civil Defense, Eulogio Márquez, indicated that for a moment “It seemed that the fire might reach the area of the Howard Johnson Hotel, in a residential neighborhood, but that might be controlled.”
