In 2021, 33 thousand 308 intentional homicides were registered in Mexico: SSPC

In 2021 recorded a total of 33 thousand 308 intentional homicides in the country, detailed Rosa Icela Rodriguez, owner of the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

Giving the report on criminal incidence corresponding to the month of december 2021, Rodriguez Velazquez pointed out that this number of murders represents a decrease from 3.6 percent in relation to the previous year, where 34 thousand 554 cases were detailed.

In december 2021 A total of 2,606 intentional homicides were registered, a marginal increase compared to last month, where 2,596 cases of this crime were recorded.

In relation to intentional homicide there is a downward trend, especially with the beginning of strengthening in several states of the country, said the head of SSPC

Six entities concentrated the 50.1 percent of murders in the country during 2021: Guanajuato, with three thousand 516; Lower California, three thousand 14; Michoacan, of the thousand 732, Mexico state, two thousand 648; Chihuahua, 2,428, and Jalisco, with 2,380.

In the period August-December 2021, a decrease in the incidence of intentional homicide was detailed in the 50 priority municipalities of 1.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Mexico has recorded the two most violent years in its history in the first two years of the mandate of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, with 34,690 murder victims in 2019 and 34,554 in 2020.

In relation to the criminal incidence of crimes under federal jurisdiction, it was detailed that when the Government of Lopez ObradorIn December 2018, more than 9,062 crimes were committed, while in December 2021, 6,135 were committed, which represents a decrease of 32.3. percent.

From the Government of Mexico, all acts outside the law are denounced, prosecuted and made available to the competent authorities, in this Government no one is covered up. Today we are giving results to what we do to achieve zero impunity”, he argued.
