José Rosario González, president of the Municipal Institute of Traffic and Terrestrial Roads (Imttv), announced the plans they have to reactivate more routes, as well as the relocation of some public transport stops.
Especially the stops that operate in Plaza El Hierro and that have different destinations in the city, both in Puerto Ordaz and San Félix. The intention is to vacate the area, since it entered into a “recovery of public spaces” plan.
This recovery plan is in conjunction with city workers and Citizen Security, in order to “give back to the city that it lost, following two years of the pandemic,” he told scoop.
Rosario stressed that the Plaza Miranda in San Félix has already been recovered, in order to “create a space for recreation, communal life and recovery of the historical memory of the city”, now they are going through the Hugo Chávez loop – better known as El Hierro -, in Puerto Ordaz and the public transport of the site will have better conditions to work.
“Guyanese will be able to sit down and read a book and talk in peace,” he added.
He also reported that they are working on new routes; those that were lost with the pandemic and with the gasoline issue.
“There will be new routes for all users, for example from: Villa Jade to Castillito, also along the entire Avenida Atlántico.”
This coming Wednesday they will meet once more with the city transport union to receive the work plans.

Fabiola Medina, coordinator of Orincar, says that: “he does not agree with the relocation, since from the beginning, in the mandate of ex-governor Francisco Rangel Gómez, a plan was made and they have been working in the square for more than seven years in an organized way.
“We don’t bother anyone,” he added.
