IMSS Chihuahua begins intensive vaccination against COVID-19 in Family Medicine Units and state hospitals

The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Chihuahua will start an intensive vaccination campaign once morest COVID-19 in Family Medicine Units (UMF) and state hospitals this Monday.

From April 18 to 30, the AztraZeneca vaccine will be applied to the population over 18 years of age who have not received a dose once morest this disease, those who need to complete their schedule or receive a booster for the third dose.

According to the head of the IMSS in Chihuahua, Dr. Arturo Daniel Bonilla y Calderón, he reported that the application hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In Ciudad Juárez, the application will be in UMF No. 46, No. 56, No. 61, No. 34, No. 47 and No. 67.

In Chihuahua, it will be applied in the Regional General Hospital (HGR) No. 01, “Morelos”; in the FMU No. 2; in FMU No. 4; in FMU No. 33; in FMU No. 44; and in UMF No. 69.

Also in the Hospital General de Zona (HGZ) No. 11, in Delicias; HGZ No. 23, in Hidalgo del Parral; at HGZ No. 16, in Cuauhtémoc; in UMF No. 24, in Jiménez, and UMF No. 54, in Nuevo Casas Grandes.

On the other hand, Bonilla y Calderón stressed that this action is part of the extraordinary measures carried out by the Institution, within the framework of institutional collaboration with the health authorities in this health contingency.

In the same way, he pointed out that IMSS nursing and medical workers have actively participated in the application of biologicals once morest COVID-19 in the entity, whom he publicly recognized for their work and effort.

Finally, hygiene measures will be maintained in the medical units to avoid contagion by COVID-19, such as frequent hand washing, correct use of face masks and a healthy distance to avoid the risk of getting sick.
