IMSS begins itinerant tours for the detection of breast cancer in the Family Medicine Units of Quintana Roo

In order to bring the detection and timely care of breast cancer closer to the communities of Quintana Roo, the representation of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Quintana Roo, began this month tours of different Family Medicine Units (UMF ) of the state with the mobile mastograph.

The program began last week at the Family Medicine Unit (UMF) No. 16, in the city of Cancun, located at av. Nichupté, with which the n calendar was inaugurated for the interested population to attend this service that will be carried out to different units of the state, informed the Assistant Coordinator of Public Health, Dr. Leydi Corral Villanueva.

This week the mobile unit moved to UMF No. 19, located in the “Los Héroes” subdivision, where it provides the service from Monday, January 16 to Tuesday, January 17, while on the 18th it will move to UMF No. 15 , on Av. Cobá, where he will be for the only time this month, to then go for three days, from Thursday, January 19 to Saturday, January 21, to the UMF No. 11 in Playa del Carmen, which will conclude his tour of the northern area of ​​the entity. .

The Public Health coordinator indicated that from Monday, January 23 to Wednesday, January 25, the mobile mastograph will be available to the population at the General Hospital of the Zone with Family Medicine (HGZ/MF) No. 1, in the city of Chetumal.

On Thursday 26 and Friday 27, it will move to UMF No. 05, in Pucté, in the southern zone of Quintana Roo, while, to end the month, on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 January 2023, the mobile mastograph It will move to the Mayan zone, to UMF No. 06, located in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto to provide care to the local population.

To access the service it is necessary to go with the mammography request, validity sheet of rights and subrogation sheet.

“It is important to note that this mobile mastograph will be touring the entity throughout the year, so the IMSS calls on the population to be aware of the routes that will be announced later,” said Corral Villanueva.
