IMSA – Jan Heylen 7th in the streets of Detroit

(Belga) Jan Heylen (Porsche) finished 7th in the GTD class on Saturday night at the sixth round of IMSA in Detroit, USA.

The North American endurance competition held its traditional sprint in the streets of Detroit, with a short race of one hour and forty minutes. Suffering from a lack of rhythm on the Porsche he shares with the American Ryan Hardwick, the Geelois Jan Heylen did not really have a say in the matter. They finished in 7th place one lap behind the victorious Lexus of American Kyle Kirkwood and Briton Ben Barnicoat. In the championship, Heylen and Hardwick remain second with 24 points behind the American Stevan McAleer. In the general classification, the Cadillac prototype of Frenchman Sébastien Bourdais and New Zealander Renger van der Zande won. (Belga)
