Islamabad: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan was allotted cell number two in Attock Jail which was infested with flies and ants. Imran was given a small C-class cell with an open toilet, said his lawyer Naeem Haider Panjota.
This is given to the captain who led the country to World Cup cricket victory. The lawyer also said that Imran has informed that he is ready to stay in jail for the rest of his life. Naeem Haider was talking to the media following visiting him in Attock Jail.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan has filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court challenging the verdict once morest him in the Tosha Khana corruption case. The petition alleged that the biased judge’s ruling was a slap in the face of due process and a travesty of justice.
Imran’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said that the appeal has been accepted on file by the High Court and will be considered on Wednesday. Instead of considering the merits of the case, the trial court judge reached the decision out of precedent. Counsel for the petitioner was not given an opportunity to present his arguments. The petition demanded that the judgment tainted with partiality was void in the eyes of law and should be quashed.
