Imran Khan granted bail in terrorism cases

Islamabad: It is reported that a Pakistani court has granted bail to former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan for a week in two cases of terrorism charges. Since the day he had to resign as Prime Minister following losing the vote of confidence held last April, cases once morest Imran Khan have been coming incessantly.

Earlier, there was a conflict between the police and the party workers following the police tried to arrest Imran Khan at his residence in Lahore in the Toshakhana case. The Toshakhana case is regarding illegal possession of expensive gifts during his tenure as Prime Minister.

The new terrorism case once morest Imran Khan is that he made a call to his followers before coming to Islamabad to appear in court in a corruption case. There was a clash between the Tehreek-e-Insaf party workers and the police outside the court that day.

Tehreek-e-Insaf party leader Fawad Chaudhary responded that all terrorism-related cases once morest Imran Khan are politically motivated.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan had sent a letter to Supreme Court Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandyal requesting to allow him to participate in court proceedings online. In the letter, Imran Khan had asked that appearing in person was a threat to his life and that all the cases once morest him should be considered together. About 100 cases including terrorism, murder, attempted murder, blasphemy and betrayal of trust have been registered once morest Imran Khan in the country.
