Imran Khan and Asim Munir Contestant

As the general elections are approaching in the country, interesting events have started happening, sometimes blood relations are pitted once morest each other, and sometimes such names are taking part in the elections, which leaves one’s mouth open in surprise.

Something similar is happening in Faisalabad constituency NA 99, where Imran Khan and Asim Munir are contesting once morest each other.

But this is not the Asim Munir and Imran Khan that you are thinking. The two personalities we are referring to are not the real Imran Khan and Army Chief Asim Munir, but their namesakes who will face each other in Faisalabad.

In Faisalabad, Asim Munir is the candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami who will contest the elections on the election symbol of “Libras”, while his opponent is Imran Khan of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) whose election symbol is “Crane”.

It should be noted that the founder of PTI Imran Khan has been imprisoned for the past several months and his right to participate in the election on February 8 has also expired.

On the other hand, PTI has also taken away their election symbol Balla, following which all the candidates of UP PTI have entered the election field with different election symbols.

In the 2018 election, this constituency was NA 105 and Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s candidate Raza Nasrullah won from here, while PML-N’s Muhammad Farooq stood second by a very narrow margin. Muhammad Farooq is once more a candidate from the constituency this time.

This is the same Muhammad Farooq whose dispute with his son over the issue of tickets came to light in the party meeting and Nawaz Sharif reconciled the father and son.
