Tipsport extraliga is looking for another overseas fighter with considerable experience in the NHL – Canadian forward Connor Bunnaman has signed a one-year contract with Hradec Králové.
The 26-year-old all-rounder worked in Finland last year, where he collected nineteen points (7+12) in 63 games in the jersey of the famous Kärpät. Now he will try his second competition on the old continent. “Connor was very interested in returning to Europe and trying out our league,” says general manager Aleš Kmoníček on the Hradec Králové website.
At the same time, he preferred the East Bohemian team over other interesting options. “Since our first contact, he has rejected several other offers and has been waiting for our decision,” claims Kmoníček.

The 185-centimeter-tall Canadian will fly to the Czech Republic today, and will undergo a medical check-up over the weekend. “Then he should be ready for the game. We believe that it will give our team the necessary impetus and help to increase productivity,” reports Kmoníček.
With the concept of his game, Bunnaman fits perfectly into the Hradek system. “Connor is a very hardworking and ambitious player in his prime hockey age,” coach Tomáš Martinec describes on the mountfieldhk.cz website.

Almost six dozen starts in the famous NHL for Philadelphia testify to his qualities. He then completed over two hundred games a level lower on the farm in the AHL. “I believe that he will adapt quickly, fit into the team well and help us especially in the area in front of the goal at both ends of the field,” adds Martinec.
And Mountfield really needs dirty goals. So far, he is scoring only 2.2 goals per game, only České Budějovice and last Plzeň are worse off. To acclimatize in the cabin, Bunnaman will certainly be helped by a numerous overseas clique: Jérémie Blain, Graeme McCormack, Ryan Dmowski, Giorgio Estephan and, if you wish, Kevin Klíma.
