Dakhla – The improvement of the various components of the business climate requires supporting investment and strengthening the competitiveness of companies capable of supporting economic and financial transformations, said Tuesday in Dakhla, the Minister of Industry and trade, Ryad Mezzour.

Speaking at the opening of the International Congress on Investment and Development Challenges, which is being held in Dakhla until March 10, 2022 under the theme “An international vision and Moroccan leadership”, Mr. Mezzour indicated that the Kingdom carried out several far-reaching reforms in the area of ​​justice and implemented a series of measures for the structural rehabilitation of the economic fabric, to promote investment and to improve the competitiveness of the national economy and the climate Business.

In this sense, Morocco has made colossal efforts to ensure a favorable climate for foreign investment through institutional, regulatory and economic reforms, he continued.

And to note that the Kingdom now has a strong network of conventions relating to the promotion and protection of investment, in addition to free trade agreements concluded with partners, which agreements have made Morocco the 2nd country African and Arab within the framework of the agreements signed.

Mr. Mezzour also pointed out that the government has contributed to the execution of a number of major reforms to improve the business climate, make life easier for businesses and support investment, noting that the efforts made have made it possible to achieve real and concrete results for the benefit of Moroccan companies and the national economy, particularly in the field of investment, foreign direct investment (FDI) and business creation.

These reforms have also made it possible to strengthen the Kingdom’s resilience in the face of the repercussions of the health crisis linked to the pandemic of the new coronavirus (covid-19), he added.

To this end, the Minister underlined that the economic dynamics that Morocco is experiencing is linked to the royal will to promote human development, to fight once morest poverty and exclusion, in particular through industrial and social policies, programs of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), the development model of the southern provinces, development programs for rural and mountainous areas, as well as the new development model (NMD).

At the same time, Mr. Mezzour indicated that investment in Morocco occupies a place of choice, noting that HM King Mohammed VI continues to stress the need to put in place a strategy to improve the business climate to guarantee an environment conducive to investment and adopting a modern and integrated legal system that makes business a fundamental lever for socio-economic development.

In this regard, he argued, the Sovereign has given his High Instructions to accelerate the implementation of the new investment charter, reform the regional investment centers (CRI) and grant them the necessary powers. to play their role.

In addition, Mr. Mezzour noted that the holding of this congress in Dakhla makes it possible to pay tribute to this modern city which has experienced in recent years a real breakthrough in terms of development, with in particular the construction of several basic infrastructures and tourist buildings.

These achievements reflect the ambitious vision and the strong will of local officials and actors, to raise this region of the Moroccan Sahara to the rank of the best tourist destinations on an international scale and to make it a competitive pole capable of attracting investors.

Organized at the initiative of the International Institute of Arbitration and Legal Studies and the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences Ain Chock of Casablanca, in cooperation with the Superior Council of the Judiciary, the Council of Economic Unity Arabic, the Union of Arab Lawyers and the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, this congress, which was attended by an audience of university teachers, judicial officials and Moroccan and foreign economic players, will focus on investment and the challenges development in the wake of multiple global challenges.
