“We are in a difficult scenario for the professional practice of pediatrics. There are unacceptable working conditions, high workload, job instability, lack of stimulus for growth, situations of violence, low pay, the need for multiple jobs to make ends meet month and lack of opportunities to update in the profession”the entity said in a statement.

Likewise, the institution that brings together pediatricians from all over the country assured that “today being part of the health system, particularly in the care sector, is quite exhausting both in the field of public health and in private medicine.”

In this sense, he stressed that “situations of increased demand, decreased human resources in the health team, caused by the lack of new appointments, vacant positions that are not covered, temporary contracts, lack of equipment and infrastructure” are frequent. , lack of time to adequately examine patients.

Faced with this reality, the SAP highlighted “the task of the thousands of pediatricians who anonymously honor their profession. This blessed specialty is honored by those who get up every day to offer the best of themselves to their patients and families.”

“To all the pediatricians who honor our specialty with their anonymous work: Thank you! On the other hand, if we bet on a serious country, it is necessary that the State and all of society, including all the institutions that are part of it, worry regarding professional medical development, both for their training and for the working conditions to which those who work to care for everyone’s health are subjected,” the document continued.

“We urge the competent authorities to convene a dialogue table, in order to find a response that considers an adequate solution to this situation of work overload for pediatricians and obstacles to timely care for patients,” the statement continued. .

And he concluded: “Given this important issue, we hope that the necessary measures can be taken to improve the conditions of the professional practice of pediatrics and thus ensure the health and well-being of our children and adolescents.”
