Improving FBR’s enforcement system is the need of the hour, PM – Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed consultation with stakeholders regarding the strategy and transformation plan to make the FBR enforcement system more active and said that FBR is the backbone of the country’s economy. I will improve.

A meeting regarding Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reforms was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which a detailed briefing was given on the FBR transformation plan.

During the briefing, it was said that the FBR plan includes a comprehensive strategy for effective use of information technology, motivation of officers and staff who perform honestly to improve tax collection and enforcement of tax laws. is

The briefing further informed that this program has been compiled by the FBR officers and experts along with the Chairman in the last 40 days.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that FBR is the backbone of the country’s economy, digitization of FBR is an important milestone in the economic reforms of the government.

He said that the improvement in revenue will improve the provision of services to the people and improvement in the social sector, improving the enforcement system of FBR is the need of the hour, comprehensive regarding making the enforcement system of FBR more active. A strategy should be set.

Shahbaz Sharif praised the FBR transformation plan and said that good taxpayers should be invited and their suggestions should be consulted on the FBR transformation plan.

He also directed further consultation with all relevant stakeholders regarding the FBR transformation plan and asked the FBR to coordinate with the relevant government departments to get approval for the detailed changes to implement these proposals.

The Prime Minister said that the promotion of the private sector is one of the government’s priorities, active and prosperous private sector is very important for the country’s economy.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged to conduct a third party audit of all the projects of FBR and also directed to speed up the measures regarding the prevention of smuggling.

Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Ahmed, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Investment and Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Ali Pervez Malik, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal, Attorney General Mansoor Awan, Governor State Bank of Pakistan Jameel Ahmed, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Rashid Mehmood Langriyal and other relevant senior government officials attended.
