The first two causes of absenteeism in Spain are related to health.
The first, with physical health. Musculoskeletal pain, such as low back pain and neck pain, is the leading cause of sick leave.
The second is related to Mental health: Stress, anxiety and depression are the disorders (increasingly common) that impact employees the most. With an average of 108 days, it is the third longest type of sick leave and its cost will exceed 30 billion euros in 2023.
