A portion of the side road of Avenue de Maire, located near the Grine organic store, was once again transformed into a swimming pool this Friday due to the precipitation that fell during the night and the morning. But also, undoubtedly, because some drains were probably covered with dead leaves and mud.
In any case, we know that these and the entire drainage network must be redeveloped, as does the road surface.
At the end of July, the mayor of Tournai, Paul-Olivier Delannois, announced in this regard that he had just signed the town planning permit and submitted it to the delegated official in order to begin as quickly as possible the construction site intended “to replace the defective drainage as well as all the particular connections and drains, line the networks which can do so and renovate the coverings as well as the road foundations, on the section of avenue de Maire between the streets of Mouettes and Lefebvre-Caters in order to improve the fight against flooding in this area.”
The procedure is therefore officially launched and we can therefore hope to see the construction equipment arrive on the site for the summer at the latest.
