The National Alms Agency (BAZNAS) of the Riau Islands (Kepri) together with BAZNAS RI launched the ZChicken program in Batam City, Riau Islands Province, as an effort to improve the economy and welfare of mustahik in the region.
ZChicken is a Mustahik Economic Empowerment program in the culinary field in the form of crispy chicken products. This program was initiated in an effort to eradicate poverty, especially in urban areas.
The symbolic handover of aid was held at the Mushroom Palace, Kampung Belian, Batam Center, Friday (5/7). Also present were the Head of BAZNAS RI for Distribution and Utilization, Saidah Sakwan, Head of the Industry and Trade Service of the Riau Islands Province, Aries Fhariandi, S.Sos, Head of BAZNAS of the Riau Islands Province, KH. Arusman Yusuf and his staff, and local officials.
In his remarks, the Head of BAZNAS RI for Distribution and Utilization, Saidah Sakwan, MA., said that the aim of launching ZChicken in Kepri is in accordance with BAZNAS’ vision, namely to become the main institution in improving the welfare of the people.
“BAZNAS’ vision is to become the main institution for the welfare of the people, so the goal of everything BAZNAS does is for the welfare of all of you, to accompany you so that you can prosper,” said Saidah.
Saidah emphasized that the underlying reason for BAZNAS to launch the ZChicken program in the Riau Islands Province was to realize the poverty alleviation agenda in the region.

“Why does Kepri still need programs like this, because we still have an agenda (to overcome) the poverty rate in Kepri, we still have 6.08 percent of the total population of Kepri who are poor, or around one hundred and forty-eight point eighty-nine thousand people, this is what we must eradicate together,” he stressed.
“The ZChicken program has been initiated since 2019 and thank God, to this day we have 1,700 ZChicken outlets nationwide, plus now an independent initiative by the Riau Islands Province, meaning it continues to grow every day, because there is demand from the community,” he added.
Saidah hopes that the ZChicken program can help the economy of the mustahik and improve the quality of life of their families.

“We also appreciate the initiative of the BAZNAS of the Riau Islands Province, and as a form of appreciation, BAZNAS RI will add from the 28 beneficiaries of the BAZNAS Province initiative, BAZNAS RI will add 30 points, hopefully later it can be distributed to several districts in the Riau Islands,” said Saidah.
“Thank you to the Governor, the Head of the Office, for all your support to BAZNAS, and God willing, in the near future we will carry out the laying of the first stone for the BAZNAS Healthy Home program in Tanjung Pinang, which will also be supported by BAZNAS RI,” he said.
Appreciation was given by the Governor of the Riau Islands Province represented by the Head of the Riau Islands Province Industry and Trade Service Dr. Aries Fhariandi, S.Sos., M.Si.

He expressed his gratitude for the presence of the BAZNAS program in the Riau Islands region. According to him, the positive collaboration between BAZNAS and the Riau Islands Provincial Government will have a positive impact on poverty alleviation programs and community economic empowerment there.
“We express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to BAZNAS RI, BAZNAS Province, and Regency/City, who have initiated many community empowerment programs, one of which is the program that we will launch today, namely the ZChicken program,” he said.
Aries said that the launch of this program is certainly part of the support for the economic empowerment program in the Riau Islands Province, strengthening the economic empowerment programs that have been implemented, are being implemented and will continue to be implemented by the Riau Islands Provincial Government.
